Edison String Lights - Add Vintage Industrial Styling to Your Patio
If like me, you totally enjoy the industrial lighting, then why not move it outside this year?
After much searching, I have found the largest supply of vintage, rustic or warehouse style fixtures is online. Most of my local lighting shops simply do not carry this line of fixtures, which is too bad because it is quite popular.
It used to be that you had to go searching through thrift stores for old antique or vintage fixtures and then have them rewired to make them safe. But no more, you can get these online and they are rated as modern lighting but don't look modern. Check them out.
Use these to light up your patio, porch or gazebo. Each string of lights is 25 feet long and both ends can plug into the next. This style of bulb looks old world and yet is modern and gives off a lot of light for that next party or barbecue.
If you prefer a different shape to the round bulb styling, you can get "elongated" old style outdoor patio lights check them out below.
These industrial outdoor string lights are rated to take the weather. Each bulb is 36 inches apart and have that old world elongated shape where you can also see the filament inside creating an awesome ambiance and are safe for outdoors. If you want something more colorful but in that same style then check these out below:
This particular style of patio lights not only have the Edison style bulbs but are color changing and also have a dimmer. It comes with a remote so that you can simply change the colors and dim or brighten, which is super cool. Old style with modern technology!
If you want to add some color to your patio or next barbecue, this is another way to go. It all depends on your lighting personality, as to whether you want round bulbs or elongated and whether you want color added. Either way I love the size of these bulbs, they give off way more light than those tiny fairy lights.
If you love the Edison style string lights but are not a fan of the typical industrial black or metal look for your patio, then check these out. They have the same old style bulb but with a white base and wire to blend in with your white gazebo, patio umbrella or your theme.
This is yet another style that may fit in better with your theme. This copper colored base and wire wood look good against wood and other natural materials.
It all depends on the theme and look you are going for. There are so many options now!
Don't Hide Your Outdoor Patio Lights
It used to be that lighting was to be hidden, especially when not in use, but with industrial and vintage style fixtures you can include them in your theme and decor. They look interesting even when not lit or in use. So go with your theme for shape and color and get that old world look but with modern materials to be safe.
The above are rated for indoor/outdoor. If using any string lights always make sure they say "rated for outdoor use" before using them. So this year treat yourself to a lit patio, deck or gazebo and extend your day with beautiful lighting.
I have found that shopping online seems to offer the largest variety of industrial lighting.
Check out the rest of my site for some super cool old world styles to set your place apart from the cookie cutter neighborhood!
